Fr. Allwyn D’Silva
Fr. Allwyn D’Silva
(Parish Priest of St. John the Baptist Church, Thane)
Fr. Allwyn D'Silva is from St. Blaise Parish, Amboli. He has an M.A. in Political Science. He is the Chairperson of the Justice and Peace Commission (JPC) of the Archdiocese, pioneer of the SHC's (Small Human Communities), Coordinator of the Archdiocese's theme of “Care for International Human Rights Education (IHREC), Chief Co-ordinator of Prison Ministry India of Mumbai Archdiocese, Convenor of Employment and the Conciliation Code Panel. He was ordained Priest on 19 April 1975

and has served as a Parish Priest for 23 years. He loves sports and reading books on Social Justice and Economics. His birthday is on 20th April.
He has served as parish priest in parishes at Jerimeri, Dharavi, Malad (East) and Bhayander.
Plans :
To listen to the parishioners and discern what is God's will for the benefit of the people and growth of the Parish.

Fr. Michael Pinto
Fr. Michael Pinto
(Principal of St. John the Baptist High School and Junior College)
Fr. Micheal Pinto is from St. Blaise Parish, Amboli, Andheri He was inspired by the priests of his parish who motivated him to become a priest. He was ordained Priest on 16th January 1993. He has been principal of Dominic Savio Vidyalaya (Ghatkopar), St. Joseph High School (Vikroli) and Holy Name High School (Colaba). He is now appointed as the Principal of our Parish school and Junior our Parish
school and Junior College. He loves teaching, listening to music, planning extracurricular activities. His birthday is on 12th September.
Plans :
School work is like an apostolate. It is like a baby who needs utmost care and love. He likes being with children and planning various activities for them.
Message to Our Parishioners :
Be close to Jesus. Love your work and everything will fall in place.
 
 
Fr. Lawrence D'souza
Fr. Lawrence D'souza
(Assistant Priest of St. John the Baptist Church, Thane)
Fr. Lawrence D'Souza is from St. Blaise Parish, Amboli, Andheri. He is a Commerce graduate. He has completed his post graduation courses in Mass Media and Counselling Psychology. Before joining the priesthood, he worked with Glaxo and Mumbai Port Trust. He was ordained priest on 31st March 1990. He has served at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Orlem, St. Anthony Church, Vakola, Holy Name Cathedral, Colaba, Mahad Missions, Our Lady of Nazareth Church, Bhayandar and at
St. Anthony Church, Saki Naka. He likes reading current topics, watching news and conducting research in sports training. His birthday is on 14th August.
Plans :
To develop children to the next level of education. He would like to train students in football using the U.K. based F.A. Method.
Message to Our Parishioners :
He loves to see children getting smarter and meeting the challenges of growing influences of the globe with an open mind and in keeping with God’s plan.
 
 
Fr. Joseph Gonsalves
Fr. Joseph Gonsalves
Fr. Joseph Gonsalves, born and brought up in Versova, (Andheri West), he is the eldest of three brothers and one sister. Completing his graduation from Bhavans College he admits that he always thought about joining the priesthood even as a young boy. He acknowledges his school principal Fr. Adrian Fereira who made an impression on him and assisted in his decision - making about receiving the Holy Orders. He was ordained a priest in the year 2005 and worked for four years at St. Anthony’s Church, Dharavi as an assistant.

 
Father Joe, as some of the youth have already resorted to calling him comes with a professional training in counseling and have already aided parishioners who have approached him.

He is actively involved in the Social Apostolate in the Archdiocese and is member of the Executive Committee of Centre For Social Action (CSA) and also committee member for Justice and Peace Commission (JPC).  He is the Assistant Co-ordinator for Prison Ministry India (Mumbai Unit). He is also the member of the Priest Council and Archdiocesan Pastoral Council (APC).

His message to the parishioners is “Let’s live in peace and harmony, leaving behind all our prejudices and strive to build a kingdom of God based on Justice, Love and Equality.”
 
 
Br. Edwin Rodrigues
Br. Edwin Rodrigues
Deacon Edwin Rodrigues, SJ is from St. Gonsalo Garcia Parish, Gass, Vasai. He is a Jesuit belonging to Bombay Province. He has completed his post-graduation in Economics and Philosophy. He will be ordained on 19th Nov 2011. He is assigned to St. John the Baptist Parish for one year Pastoral experience.

To labour, love, learn and live in the Lord is the motto of his life. Dreaming the impossible dream and then taking steps to reach the unreachable star is his life’s purpose. He desires to be a man of prayer who brings people close to God.
